Pinched Nerve

Pinched Nerve Pain Relief with Chiropractic Care

Your nerves constantly send messages back and forth between your brain and the rest of your body. Any irritated or pinched nerves, however, cannot convey these vital messages as they should. This leads to symptoms like radiating pain in your back, neck, legs, arms, feet, and hands etc. You may also experience weakness, burning, numbness or tingling sensations as well.

Talk with Our Chiropractor about Pinched Nerve Treatment Options

Our chiropractors will carefully examine your spine, medical history and symptoms to determine the cause and location of your pinched nerve. There are four main reasons behind nerve impingement, so treatment will be designed to address those causes:

Subluxation

Nerves travel from your spinal cord out to the rest of your body through spaces between your spine bones called vertebrae. If vertebrae are misaligned, they can pinch nerves, causing dysfunction and pain in the areas served by those nerves.

Herniated Disc

Injury or poor posture habits can cause the jelly-filled discs, that heighten the spine allowing nerves to pass between the vertebrae, to rupture. When the contents of the disc spill out, it can pinch nerves.

Degenerative Disc Disease

These same discs can also start to lose their shape and hydration as we age, causing them to bulge and irritate nerves. This commonly thought to only plague elder generations but our chiropractors are seeing this in younger and younger due to poor posture and mismanaged spinal conditions or injuries.

Arthritis

The facet joints between the vertebrae enable the spine to bend. Poor alignment causes abnormal wear and tear to these joints causing them to wear out at an accelerated rate; this can also pinch nerves and lead to dysfunction, pain, numbness and tingling due to deformations to the bones and inflammation.

Pinched Nerve Chiropractic Treatments

Fortunately, each of these four main causes of pinched nerve pain can be treated by our chiropractor with a multifaceted approach including:

Chiropractic spinal adjustments

Our doctors realign vertebrae so they stop pinching nerves as well as relieve pressure on the spine’s discs; this is how we provide much needed relief.

Therapeutic exercises

Once the spine is correctly aligned, our chiropractor will teach you how to keep it healthy by coaching you on exercises/stretches as well as recommend a maintenance plan so you can better preserve optimal posture from now on.
