Dr. Paige is certified in the ICPA Websters protocol. This protocol can be used on anyone with pelvic instability and dysfunction but was originally developed for pregnancy. The idea behind this technique is that if the pelvis is in proper alignment the uterus will be able to open and create space for babies as they develop inside the womb. This also provides proper neurologic function of the pelvic floor, uterine, and abdominal muscles to ensure mom is able to labor and deliver with optimal function. When the pelvis is unstable and out of alignment it can cause round ligament pain, sciatic pain, low back pain, and dysfunction of the uterus and pelvic floor. NOT TO MENTION the increased difficulty for mom to activate muscles to help deliver little one safe and efficiently.
When dysfunctional tension of the uterus occurs little one can become “cramped” forcing them to find a more comfortable, but less desirable position in utero. Unfortunately, between 32-36 weeks, these positions can be seen as frank breech, footling breech, and occiput posterior on ultrasound. Keeping the pelvis clear of instability and misalignments help alleviate the dreaded aches and pains of pregnancy for mom as well as provide the ability for the baby to position themselves optimally for development and delivery.
